Top girls prep performers from Jan. 3-13

We're back.

The holiday break is now fully behind us as the NEPSAC season is once again in full swing.

Some teams have played several games since the new year, while others have just played a couple. As such, we'll focus on the first two weeks of January.

Regardless, there's a lot to get to in the first top performers of 2026. From back-to-back four-goal games to explosive weeks to staggering save totals, there's no shortage of candidates for this week.

ISL

Top skater: Maddie Call, Thayer

Call put up six points across a pair of wins for Thayer to begin 2026, continuing her strong sophomore year. She factored in on each goal in a 3-1 win over Austin Prep with a goal and two assists before repeating those totals in a 5-0 win over Portsmouth Abbey. Call is on track to shatter her career highs from last season, currently sitting at 15 points (five goals) through 10 games.

Top goalie: Ava Scannell, Milton Academy

This week's honors could have easily gone to Groton's Nora Wilson (Weybridge, Vt.) for two strong starts, but I've got to tip my cap to Scannell, who did her all in a pair of 5-0 losses for Milton Academy. The senior Northeastern commit made 65 saves on 70 shots against No. 2 Loomis Chaffee, and she followed it up with a 60-save performance on 65 shots against No. 4 Dexter Southfield. Scannell (Arlington, Mass.) still managed to post a .925 save percentage across the two contests.

Top skater: Brigid Dowd, Portsmouth Abbey

Dowd stepped up for the Ravens in a key spot, scoring the game-tying goal in the third period of a 1-1 draw with Berwick. It was the senior's third goal and seventh point in 10 games this season. She could be on pace for a career year.

RANKINGS: Plenty to unpack in the first girls prep top 10 of 2026

Top goalie: Claire Griffis, Berwick

Griffis had a major bounce back for Berwick last week. After giving up two goals on 14 shots in a 3-2 loss to Proctor, the freshman was lights out in a 1-1 tie with Portsmouth Abbey, making 36 saves on 37 shots. She had a .941 save percentage across the two games, improving to a .949 in four appearances this season.

Independents

Top skater: Paisley Meyer, Phillips Exeter

Several players could have gotten the nod here, but Meyer gets the edge.

Meyer, now prep's leading goal-scorer with 15 through nine games, has been automatic to kick off the new year with nine goals in three games through Jan. 13. She had back-to-back four-goal games in wins over North Yarmouth Academy (7-4) and Cushing (5-4), including a shorthanded and power play goal against Cushing. The junior Yale commit added another in a 3-0 win over Proctor, extending her scoring streak to four straight with 11 goals in that span. She's tied for the second-most points in prep (22).

NEW YEAR’S PREP PUCK DROP: 14 standout forwards | 13 standout defenders, goalies

Top goalie: Gabby Cohen, Hoosac

Cohen and Hoosac are on a roll. The Owls picked up their fifth and sixth straight wins to begin 2026 by way of a 2-1 win over Mount St. Charles and a 7-3 win over Austin Prep. Cohen was terrific in both. She made 37 saves on 38 shots against Mount before holding a potent AP offense at bay with 41 saves on 44 shots. The uncommitted senior finished with a .951 save percentage over the two starts, improving to a .962 on the season.

Founders/Housatonic

Top skater: Annie Schwarz, Loomis Chaffee

Schwarz has been a monster for the Pelicans this season. The senior Yale commit put up six points in Loomis' first two games of January. She had a hat trick in a 5-0 win over Milton Academy before scoring twice and adding an assist in a 6-2 win over Berkshire. Schwarz has goals in five straight. She has points in every game this season, including four multi-goal games (two hat tricks) and eight multi-point outings.

MIAA CLASH: 13 standouts from Methuen/Tewksbury’s win over Shawsheen/Bedford/Lowell

Top goalie: Margaux Devillers, Choate

Devillers wasn't fazed in a 4-2 comeback win over Frederick Gunn, earning her first career win in her first start and shutting the door down the stretch. Her sister, Victoire, also scored in the win, adding crucial insurance late in the third. It was a key win for the Wild Boars.

Lakes Region

Top skater: Maddie Allen, St. Paul's

Allen, like St. Paul's, has been on an offensive tear of late. The sophomore has goals in three straight games to kick off the new year, part of a four-goal, seven-point run. Allen had a goal and an assist in an 8-0 win over Vermont Academy before scoring another in a 3-2 comeback over Lawrenceville. She followed it up with two goals and two assists in an 11-3 win over Hotchkiss. Through 12 games, Allen has eight goals on the season, doubling her freshman year total (four). Her 12 points match last season's total, too.

Top goalie: Elizabeth Vincent, New Hampton

Vincent carded back-to-back quality starts for the Huskies in their first two contests of 2026. She gave New Hampton every chance to win with a 31-save performance in a 2-0 loss to No. 10 Groton, and she followed it up with a 15-save shutout over Middlesex. The uncommitted junior had a .958 save percentage (46 of 48) in the two starts.

Top skater: Colby D'Arcy, Pomfret

D'Arcy was the hero for Pomfret in the Griffin's 4-3 win over Northfield Mount Hermon. The freshman notched her first career hat trick, including the game-winning goal, and she added an assist for a four-point night. D'Arcy is up to nine points (five goals) through 12 games in her rookie season.

Top goalie: Eve-Marie Leclerc, North Yarmouth Academy

Leclerc has been busy for NYA since the new year, posting 90 saves on 100 shots. After making 31 saves in a 3-1 loss to Austin Prep and 21 in a 7-4 loss to Exeter, Leclerc turned it around over her next two appearances. She made 21 saves on 21 shots in relief in a 3-3 tie with Worcester Academy, even helping her team on the scoresheet with an assist. She also pitched a 17-save shutout in a 2-0 win over Holderness.
