Top girls prep performers from Feb. 11-17

It's coming down to the wire in girls prep.

Last week featured some big-time results with huge implications on playoff seeding. There will be even more over the final week and a half in the NEPSAC.

The common denominator to it all? Heroic performances.

There was hardly a shortage of gaudy point totals and clutch goaltending around the region over this latest stretch.

ISL

Top skater: Francie Ames, Nobles

Ames (Brookline, Mass.) continued her breakout season with eight points in three games last week. The sophomore had a goal and an assist in a 4-0 win at Groton, then posted two assists in a 5-2 win over BB&N. She capped things off with a goal and three assists in a 5-0 win over The Hill School.

DOWN GOES NO. 1: 7 takeaways from No. 2 Nobles' win over No. 1 Phillips Andover

Top goalie: Annika Jonas, Nobles

Jonas (Weston, Mass.) was excellent in three quality wins last week. The Yale commit had shutouts over Groton (28 saves) and Hill School (28 saves) that bookended 17 saves on 19 shots against BB&N. The junior had a .973 save percentage on the week.

Top skater: Ava Souza, Berwick

It was all about Souza (Portsmouth, N.H.) in Berwick's 7-1 win over Newton Country Day last Wednesday. The sophomore led the offensive charge with a goal and three assists.

RECRUITING: 20 local sophomores to know in the 2026 women’s college hockey recruiting season

Top goalie: Claire Griffis, Berwick

Despite the lopsided result on the scoreboard, Griffis (Barrington, N.H) still saw plenty of action in Berwick's win over Newton Country Day last week. The freshman turned aside 20 of 21 shots for the Bulldogs in another quality outing on the road.

Founders/Housatonic

Top skater: Sophie Um, Taft

Um was at the forefront of a pair of wins last weekend. The freshman had four points across the two games. She had a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win at Frederick Gunn before potting a goal and an assist in a 5-0 win over Hotchkiss.

GIRLS PREP: 26 candidates for Player of the Year

Top goalie: Noel Schaab, Choate

It was a rough week for Choate with two losses to top teams, but Schaab (Sherman, Conn.) did her part. The senior Hamilton commit made 37 saves on 39 shots in a 2-1 loss to then-No. 1 Williston Northampton. She followed it up with 40 saves on 44 shots in a 4-0 loss at No. 4 Loomis Chaffee. Schaab still managed to post a .928 save percentage over the two games.

Honorable mentions: Adeline Roper, Loomis Chaffee (22 saves on 22 shots in one game); Izzy Kirby, Deerfield (18 saves on 19 shots in one game); Anousheh Mohebbi, Taft (20 saves on 20 shots in one game)

Independents

Top skater: Olyvia Labossiere, Mount Saint Charles

Labossiere has been red-hot lately, and it continued this past week. The freshman had eight points across two of three wins. She led a 14-2 win over Winsor with a seven-point night, finishing with four goals and three assists. Labossiere followed it up with a goal in a 3-1 win at Kents Hill. She has 11 points (seven goals) in her last five games, taking over the team lead in scoring.

GIRLS PREP RANKINGS: A new No. 1 headlines big shakeup

Top goalie: Moira Landsverk, Frederick Gunn

Few have been better than Landsverk over the last month, and that was the case again last week. The junior UNH commit had a .969 save percentage amid a 2-1-0 stretch. She made 41 saves in a 3-1 win over Millbrook before turning aside 45 of 48 shots in a loss at Taft. Landsverk capped the week with a 39-save shutout in a 3-0 win at Westminster.

Top skater: Addy Peel, New Hampton

It was all Peel (Scarborough, Maine) in a pair of wins for the Huskies last week. After falling to then-No. 8 St. Paul's, Peel led a bounce-back 11-1 win over Brewster. She finished with five points (two goals) in the win. She came through again in a 3-2 upset of then-No. 9 Phillips Exeter, posting a goal and an assist.

Top goalie:  Paige MacPhee, St. Paul's

MacPhee backstopped the Big Red to two key wins last week. After making just nine saves on 12 shots in a 6-3 win over Lakes Region rival New Hampton, MacPhee was outstanding in a 3-1 win at then-No. 7 Tabor. The junior made 38 saves on 39 shots. She had a .922 save percentage in the two games.

Top skater: Sarah Sampson, Austin Prep

Sampson's (Wilmington, Mass.) magical senior season continued with six points in two games last week. The Salve Regina commit had a goal and three assists in a 5-1 win at Hebron. She also added a goal and an assist in a 6-2 loss at Holderness.

Top goalie: Sidney Kelm, Pomfret

Kelm was sharp last week despite the 0-2-1 run for Pomfret. She made 40 saves in a 3-3 tie with Berkshire before carding 40 more stops in a 5-0 loss to Loomis. The sophomore followed it up with 24 saves in a 2-1 loss to NYA. She had a .912 save percentage over the three games.
