Three Hockey East teams made the 16-team NCAA Tournament field that was announced Sunday.
Boston University received the automatic bid as Hockey East Tournament Champion, while Northeastern and Providence earned at-large bids.
Providence will be the No. 2 seed in the East Regional at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Conn. The Friars will face No. 3 Clarkson out of ECAC Hockey at 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
Northeastern and Boston University will both compete for a spot in the Frozen Four at the Northeast Regional in Worcester, Mass. The Huskies, seeded third, will face No. 2 Michigan from the Big Ten at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The fourth seeded Terriers take on No. 1 Cornell in the first regional semifinal at 1:00 p.m. Saturday. Both semifinal games from the DCU Center will be televised nationally on ESPNNews.
In addition to the regionals in Bridgeport and Worcester, the Midwest Regional will be in Allentown, Pa. and the West Regional is in Sioux Falls, S.D. The winners of the four regionals will meet in the 2018 Frozen Four at the XCel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn.
