Cole Eiserman is headed to the pros.
On Wednesday, Eiserman left Boston University to sign with the NHL's New York Islanders, who drafted him 20th overall in 2024. He signed an amateur tryout contract (ATO) with the team's AHL affiliate, the Bridgeport Islanders.
From Newburyport, Mass., Eiserman has been at BU for the past two seasons.
He led BU and all college hockey rookies with 25 goals last winter, guiding the Terriers to the national championship game. He finished his freshman year with 36 points in 39 games.
His sophomore year was a bit more difficult. Eiserman scored 18 times and finished with 28 points in 32 games for a BU squad that struggled.
He has always been known as a pure goal-scorer at left wing. Nothing shows that more than him being the all-time leader in U.S. National Team Development Program goals with 127. He spent 2022-24 in Plymouth, Mich.
