With the 20th pick in the first round of the 2024 NHL Draft, the New York Islanders took Cole Eiserman (Newburyport, Mass.).
Eiserman is known for his outstanding ability to score goals. The Boston University commit has the most lamplighters in the history of the U.S. National Team Development Program with 127.
The knock on him, and the reason he fell, is his two-way game is lacking. Still, Eiserman made big strides in that department this past season.
Eiserman got his start with the Middlesex Islanders before making the move to Shattuck-St. Mary's for his U14 year. As a U14, Eiserman showed signs of being a prodigy, scoring 97 goals and tallying 154 points in 50 games.
He followed that up with 56 goals and 86 points in 53 games the next season, playing as a 15-year-old with the U18s.
Eiserman played alongside Macklin Celebrini, who went No. 1 to the San Jose Sharks earlier in the night. The two are good friends.

After his time at Shattuck, Eiserman moved on to the USNTDP. In 2022-23, he led the U17 team in goals (43) and points (72). This past season, he led the U18s in goals (58) and ranked second to James Hagens in points with 89.
