Northeastern University junior center Adam Gaudette (Braintree, Mass.) has been named the winner of the prestigious Walter Brown Award, given annually to the top American-born college hockey player in New England.
Gaudette, a finalist for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award, has 30 goals and 30 assists in 37 games this season. A product of Thayer Academy and Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in the USHL, he has 68 goals and 74 assists in 115 career games with the Huskies. Gaudette leads the nation in goals, points and power play points.
Gaudette and his Northeastern teammates have their sights on advancing past the first round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1982. The Huskies will face Michigan in the second semifinal of the Northeast Regional at the DCU Center in Worcester. Puck drop is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
